Vaidehi Taman is an investigative journalist, editor, ethical hacker, philantrophist, author and an inspiration to many. She is editor-in-chief of Newsmakers Broadcasting and Communications Pvt. Ltd. Since 4 years, which features an English daily tabloid – Afternoon Voice, a Marathi daily tabloid – Mee Mumbaikar, monthly magazines like Hackers5, Beyond the news (international) and Maritime Bridges, dedicated to IT industry, Indian news to the world and shipping industry, respectively. Besides the business perspective, she is an EC Council Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Security Analust and is also a Licensed Penetration Tester which she caters for her sister-concern Kaizen-India Infosec Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
After a long stint in journalistic career pursuits in early 2000, she decided to start her own publication and this was a turning point in her life. She was already a freelance reporter to West Side Plus (Times of India), Mumbai Sandhya Group of Publications, and Sunday Observer. Before joining Afternoon DC, she was writing for Free Press Journal. She began her carrier with ‘In Times News’ as a crime correspondent. Here she was introduced to new gametes of visual media. She learnt compilation of news & visuals, scripting, language, timing and video editing. This was like an institution for young journalists. she worked with various reputed news channels but always wanted to learn more. She joined ‘Digital Academy’ to acquire proper training in video editing, dubbing, cinematography techniques, etc. Later, she produced, directed & edited over fifty documentaries under the Newsmakers banner and for many other leading channels. As she remembers, her first corporate film was for ‘MHADA’ about SRA scheme which gave her recognition.
